Right now India and the whole world, is going through a tough time.
We are living through a pandemic and things are looking dull.
Businesses are not making profits. Jobs are not secure. The economy is down. The stock market is down.
Many people are feeling as if the whole world is going to end.
But the truth is...
This too shall pass.
Every time there is a crisis, like the previous financial crisis in 2008, the world and the media react as if the world is ending.
There is a good chance that you will not get the corona virus disease. Even if you get it, there is an 80% chance that you will not be hospitalized.
The world has gone through tougher pandemics that have a much higher mortality rate.
For example, Chickenpox had a mortality rate of 30%. And it is highly infectious. We have crossed many such pandemics and we will cross through this as well.
The good part about corona virus is that the mortality rate is very low and it doesn't impact children that much. We should be grateful for that.
Apart from that, corona virus also has slowed down the impact of humans on mother earth. The water is now cleaner, the air is purer and a lot of animals are now finding their home back in the ecosystem.
We are learning a lot of lessons.
There is no need to go out all the time and pollute the world. Skills like cooking and cleaning the house is important. At such times, we also realize how much we were dependent on maids and other helpers which we have taken for granted.
Staying at home has given us more time to read books. Learn from courses. (And attend webinars).
Also, a common enemy is what brings us together. This enemy doesn't care about your gender, religion, nationality or race. We all realize that the trivial differences we had between us doesn't matter now.
This is like an alien invasion where the whole of humanity comes together to fight this common enemy.
I sincerely hope that we will get out of this pandemic soon and we will be able to get back to normal lives. The economy will recover and we will prosper again. But we should also take the good lessons we've learned during this lock down period and make sure that we retain it in us.
That being said, please stay at home. Even if corona virus doesn't kill you, you might end up spreading it to a lot of people if you go out and other people might die because they will come under your "down line". The more you stay at home, the more lives you will save.
One day we will be telling our grandchildren how we survived through this pandemic.
I hope you are staying positive.
